Up here in the mountains of the Southeast, fall may just be our favorite time of year. The sun shines bright during the day, but the weather is cool enough that you can spend hours outside enjoying it. It's the best time of year for exploring the great outdoors, hitting the festival circuit, and of course, getting just a little bit spooky. Here are our top things to do this fall in all the places where Brown Haven Homes builds new homes — North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and North Georgia. Happy fall, y’all!

Asheville, NC

Eliada Fall Festival and Corn Maze | Weekends in October

Eliada Home | 2 Compton Drive | Asheville

This traditional fall fest features corn cannons, a bouncy pillow, spider climber, hayride, straw maze, and more, but it's really the cause that's the most exciting. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the festival benefit Eliada Home, which helps children to succeed in life.

Winter Lights at the North Carolina Arboretum | November 19, 2021 - January 1, 2022

The North Carolina Arboretum | 100 Frederick Law Olmsted Way | Asheville

Madworld Haunted House | September 10-November 6, 2021

147 Country Manor Rd | Piedmont

With three levels on the Scare Meter — Charming, Entertaining, and Terrifying — you're sure to find the perfect one for you. The haunted house is ranked as one of America's scariest, but families with kids can always purchase "No-Scare" medallions that keep the creatures at bay.

Denver Downs Farm Fall Festival | September 25-November 14, 2021

Denver Downs Farm | 1515 Denver Road | Anderson

A fall festival to top them all, this one offers all the traditional attractions like a corn maze and pumpkin patch, plus weekend entertainment, friendly farm animals, barnyard bonfires, and singing jack-o-lanterns!

Chattanooga, TN

ODDtober at the Tennessee Aquarium | October 1-31, 2021

One Broad Street | Chattanooga

Discover the weirdest and most wonderful of the animal kingdom on this self-guided scavenger hunt to find the Aquarium's strangest creatures. Electric Eel (a real eel!) will perform his popular lighted pumpkin show.

Fall Cruise on the Tennessee River Gorge | All Season Long

The Southern Belle | 151 Riverfront Parkway | Chattanooga

Enjoy this open-air cruise through one of the South's most beautiful fall landscapes. This 3-hour, scenic cruise is narrated and will have food and drink available. Dress warmly!

Ellijah, GA

Apple-Picking | September-October Various U-Pick Farms

It's the season for apples in North Georgia! A number of farms offer apple picking for different varieties ranging from Golden Delicious to Granny Smith. Call before you head out, though, as u-pick apples are on a first-come, first-served basis, and orchards do run out.

Hiawassee, GA

Bell Mountain | All Season Long Northeast Georgia Mountains | Hiawassee

For an unparalleled view of the North Georgia Mountains in all their fall glory, climb the summit of Bell Mountain to an elevation of 3,424 feet and take in the scenery.

Dawsonville, GA

Mountain Moonshine Festival & Car Show | October 22-24, 2021
