How Long Does it Take to Build a Custom Home?


So, how long does it really take to build yourBrown Havencustom home? In all honesty, it can vary based on the location, weather conditions, and most importantly your preparedness of as a homebuyer.

Once you’ve finally selected the Brown Havenfloorplanthat meets the needs of your family, the first things our New Home Specialist will ask for is:

  • the deed to your land (Don’t have land? We can help with that! Clickhereto get started)
  • location of the plot
  • deed restrictions
  • water company information
  • electrical company information
  • the pre-qualification from the loan

Once you’ve provided the listed documents, and are approved for your home loan by one of our preferred lenders, we’ll begin the pre-construction process! Once Brown Haven breaks ground on your new home site,we provide home buyers with a time frame of typically 6-8 months for the custom home to be completedA Brown Haven’s specialist will guide buyers through a strict four-step pre-construction process to make sure the home is built in a timely manner.

Step Three:Design Authorization

Step Four:Pre-Construction Meeting

Once construction on the home is completed, buyers must then complete the Homeowner Orientation before their official move-in date. During the orientation, your Project Manager and/or Warranty Technician will finally introduce and walk you through your new custom built Brown Haven Home! This is your opportunity to ask questions about heating and air, water heaters, and general information homeowners should be aware of.
